A Board Certified Veterinary Dentist, Dr Martin is considered a Specialist as a Diplomate with the American Veterinary Dental College. A Diplomate is not only a veterinarian but has completed a residency and passed additional certifying exams to demonstrate expertise in endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, periodontal treatment, prosthodontics, and restoratives. Common reasons for referral include broken teeth for root canals, periodontal disease for extractions or treatment, oral tumor excision, fracture repair, and others. Many patients are also referred because they are higher risk for anesthesia and need a different approach than their primary care provider can offer.
